Once the clock spring for steering wheel controls is installed the last step is to connect the wiring to the radio. All of the connections needed are available in the factory radio connector and a 4ft pig tail harness from the clock spring will reach this location.

This harness is available in one of our Steering Wheel Control Kits or can be made yourself.

The steering wheel control connector at the bottom of the clock spring harness has 4 terminals.

  • A - Yellow - Keyed Power
  • B - Gray - Lighting Power
  • C - Light Green - Data Wire
  • D - Black - Lighting Ground

GM switches the wiring color on the other side of this connector in vehicles that use the Steering Wheel Controls from the factory. These colors match up with the wiring at the radio.

  • A - Dark Green - Keyed Power
  • B - Brown - Lighting Power
  • C - Dark Blue - Data Wire
  • D - Black - Lighting Ground

At the radio the wires tie into the following positions of the 2 level Gray/Black connector.

The harness provided in the kit will have a terminal crimped onto the Blue wire, so it can be directly placed into Pin 14 of the Light Gray side of the connector. The other 3 wires will be spliced into the matching circuits.

  • Pin 5 - Black - Lighting Ground
  • Pin 7 - Gray or Brown - Lighting Power
  • Pin 9 - Dark Green - Keyed Power
  • Pin 14 - Dark Blue - Data Wire
